Nice build. I personally use Frenzy over Flurry. This may sound a bit suicidal but it works well for me, because I think that when his health is above 50% it's better to lose health fast so you can use Grenth's to deal out damage. Then after it's past 50%, use Dolyak's and he'll hit you for 4-6ish. The only thing to note is to stop frenzying when Doylak is out when he's low (replace it with sprint or let it time out). And I also have a hard time interrupting him so I dropped disrupting for Penetrating for a lot more damage.

I got it to drop twice in like 40 runs total, and they were 5 runs apart
It really isn't worth it because the staff isn't that popular it seems. I have not tried the W/N build for this, but I know my build works quite nicely and kills quick =)

I messed around with this and got it to drop on my fifth try or so. Oh, and you can kill the ele boss with this build as well (no drops from him yet though):

Thanks for showing love to that skillset Ripley =P
Also, how do you do on getting past that first group of enemies? It seems like it would be difficult w/o divine favor, like dying more often. I tried without the 55 part of the build, and the success to death ratio was much more than before (because I didn't die before =P). With the 55 part of it, it seems like if they set down enough traps the divine favor is the only thing that keeps me alive. Just a question, wondering how easy it is for you because the damage output would be almost twice as high with a necro (hence the ele boss would take less time to kill and might actually be profitable).

Equipment:
Cheapo 15e green staff. I bought a Millius' Pillar for 1k at ToPK.
Druid's Armor (32e)
Every skill is used on the bar. It's not super fast, but I find it more efficient than my iNecro with SS/IP.
For the first mob:
1. Lay 2 barbed traps under the first arch. Further is bettter.
2. Pull the mob. The Wardens of the Trunk will come down to you.
3. If all goes well then they will hit the barbed traps and be crippled. Because they are so far away you will get a good head start on them.
4. Immediately go to dodge and run up through the other wardens.
5. If you can stay near either wall and you may avoid a trap.
6. Go into whirling as dodge wears off.
7. Keep running until you break aggro. When Dodge recharges use it immediately. You may have to run a long way down the hallway.
8. Now heal up and go back for Craw.
For Craw:
Avoid frontal assault if possible. It's not suicide, but strafing is pain. His wand attacks do 80dmg to my ranger in druids armor. Try and get him within range for Empathy & Backfire, but behind an obstacle. That way he can't wand you to death.
1. Backfire first!
2. Empathy
3. Rinse and repeat.
4. Wait until your health is <50%. This will trigger two additional curses: Lingering Curse and Defile Flesh. If you can, try to backfire them. They are sacrificing spells so it hurts old Craw a lot to get backfired on those.
5. Use Melandru's when your hp starts to get critical.
For Zarnas:
Do not frontal assault! Gale + Stone Daggers and Fast Casting makes this guy deadly.
Instead see if you can get him stuck on a corner such that stone daggers won't hit you. (This is fairly easy to do). Then:
1. Backfire
2. Rinse and Repeat until he's down so low on HP that he won't cast.
3. Shatter Enchantment (only when he's low on HP). He uses Aura of Restoration and when you hit him with it he'll drop.
*NOTE: He must have around 2000hp. I've seen him cast through 105dmg Backfire 8 times and only drop about 40% health.
Have fun!
P.S. I still like my Vilnar's Staff more... it does cold damage.

Awesome works really well, got the staff on second run!! didnt try any other bossess.
I could not get past the wardens at begining but once you die you respawn the other side of craw and you 90% of the time get a clear run back to him and 15% dp dosent matter as i was keeping my health around 250 so that i could cast backfire and get him on his sacrifice spells which made it much quicker.
Didnt have melandrus and found troll to be sufficient enough as i was just keeping health low anyway so left escape in but as i couldnt get past the wardens i didnt need any of the defense/run skills so im sure the build could be made quicker with adding in some more dmg dealing

I run in as a 55, and just run through that first mob with breeze and prot spirit up. The traps will slow you down, but just keep running. After awhile, the crippling will wear off and they'll stop following you. You have to make sure you don't aggro the second group while running away from the first however. After that I take off my enchants (for faster energy regen), and the bosses are cake. I just use the wall trick so that I get the most out of price of failure.
I've yet to see or try the monk boss that Ecksor mentioned however. Is he past the ele I assume?

If this has been mentioned already, sorry but I thought I'd say that Zarna has a pretty decent green too. Its an earth wand with +5 energy ^ 50 and 20% recharge on Earth. I was able to get it in a few runs.

Any possibilities with a Warrior Monk or does it have to be Warrior Mesmer or Warrior Necro?

EDIT: I finally got the staff. After like 50-60 runs... However, at this point, one has to wonder... Was it worth it?? lol

Dude you have CRAP luck. I got the staff 5 times in 15 runs.

I'm glad it worked for you. I've also had trouble getting through the first mob. It's really a crapshoot because they sometimes have a mix of archer/hammer wardens. It's easiest when they're all hammer because you don't have traps. It's also not too bad with only archers because they just don't do as much damage and there aren't any knockdowns.
Glad to hear that the rez shrine makes it easy though. I've had bad luck and usually end up with a group of wardens right on top of the shrine when I rez.

I use a similar build like Ripley, actually, the skillset are identical and what I do for kicks is that I come in as a 55, kill the first group of mob. I then switch to a regular armor (without all of the superiors) and take on the first boss. I tried taking down the Ele boss but it was taking a very long time, I gave up and zoned. Finally got the staff today tho, so I am done with this farm =)

I was about to make my own thread, but then I saw this one...
You can also kill Stoneweaver, the Monk boss, fairly easy too.
This makes three bosses in one area you can kill. I can get to the Warrior boss, but he seems to have support... havent checked to see if I can seperate him from the primary group yet, they caught me offguard the one time I went down there.

I used the R/Me build and it worked well! The trickiest part was getting past the wardens but once I got into the grove it was cake walk. The Ele boss was a little harder but as soon as he stepped behind the wall he was toast. Thanks! Now I'm tempted to try it with my Necro.
edited to say: I got the staff but not on my solo runs! LOL I was hoping to give the extra away to a guildie but ehh..

kudos to Mister O for this build... with a few modifications link to thread here
Attributes (with one of the quests done)
smiting 9
strength 10 (8+2) major strength
tactics 12 or 16
gear required:
enough armor so he doesn't wand you to death too quickly
sheild and weaon doesn't matter i use +60/-3 while hexed sheild and any weapon you have
Healing signet(tactics)
remove hex(no attrib)
smite hex(smiting)
scourage sacrifice(smiting)
balanced stance(tactics)
sprint (strength)
purge conditions(no attrib)
free space
use balanced stance and sprint to get through the mob of wardens using purge conditions after running through a couple traps
aggro him and let him use his degen and start wanding you when you're just over half health cast scourage sacrifice defile flesh will sacrifice 40% of his health remove this with either hex but use healing signet just after remove Lingering curse and defile flesh and reapply scourage sacrifice when needed
Run takes about 3 minutes
I must be really lucky get 1 staff every other run
NOTE: the empty space can be used for anything... i use endure pain for the health spike if i cant remove one of the hexes (DF or LC)
First post... so bear with me plz
